Problem

A 41 year-old female presents with an ill-fitting denture and is un-happy with her appearance. She was against a new full denture, and was interested in implants.

Solution

A bar over-denture was considered but for aesthetics and long term function we selected 2 three unit splints with an Equipoise precision partial.

Procedure Part 1

After the successful placement of 6 implants, 3 on each side of the maxilla, each side was restored with two 3 unit splints each containing 2 C-rests.

Procedure Part 2

This was followed-up by the fabrication of an Equipoise partial with 2 C-rests and 2 L springs.

Please note that each splint has extra C-rest, should we loose an implant or two and need to modify the partial. That is the beauty of this design, built in permanency.

Outcome

A very satisfied patient, with a superb appearance and magnificent function.
